This was not the outcome that Tanya had expected when she’d taken the job. Sure, being a bodyguard involved certain… tradeoffs, but she’d accepted those.
Being invisible, but seen at the same time. Being passive, but assertive. Those kinds of things.
Being a female bodyguard made it all that much harder.
When Jacob had hired the company she worked for to protect him during a recent trip to a third world country to negotiate mining rights, she’d been assigned to his detail.
At first he’d be credulous about a woman being assigned to him, but after a simple demonstration of her skills and strength, he didn’t speak up again about it.
Over the next year she’d been on his detail each time he needed protection, her boss said that he asked for her by name each time.
It was on the last detail she worked that things had gone wrong. They were visiting another backwater shithole of a country, once more protecting Jacob as he tried to swindle the locals out of their rights to make a profit.
When they had been attacked, she’d assumed it was the local gangs, or a competitor or Jacob’s trying to beat him to the punch.
In reality, it had been Jacob who had arranged the ambush, the rest of her team was dead, and she was shipped off to some third world brainwashing factory.
She’d learned since then that Jacob had reported the entire team as lost in action, and several months later she had been delivered to one of Jacob’s villas, the one she was standing beside even now.
He would be here soon, coming from where ever he had been doing business most recently. She would put on a strong show, resisting with her superior strength, but in the end she would let him take her any way he wanted.
For while it had been a third world brainwashing factory, it had delivered first rate results.
Tanya was no longer a bodyguard, but just a body. To be used in whatever way Jacob saw fit, and she’d have it no other way.
