Thi is my yearly summary of my writing stats and set out a goal, you can read the pervious ones in the #writingstats category.
First up is an updated chart for sites (just mcstories.com so far):
Year | Words posted to sites |
2008 | 18,072 |
2010 | 6,131 |
2011 | 3,506 |
2012 | 15,691 |
2013 | 4,520 |
2014 | 58,755 |
2015 | 33,338 |
2016 | 34,688 |
2017 | 29,851 |
2018 | 35,104 |
2019 | 79,872 |
2020 | 6,802 |
Well, that’s kinda depressing 🙁
My goal was the same as last year, 100k words published, but alas like many things in 2020… stuff happened. It’s not the worst year for my writing, but way down from last year.
Getting my stats from my blog is a bit harder, and includes some things like news items, but excludes things like FWBP, so probably a wash over all. This years count is my second best on record as I picked up posting daily again part way through the year. I already have drafts up until mid April for daily posts so next year may be significantly higher, or not, well see 😉
Year | Words posted to blog |
2014 | 54,000 |
2015 | 91,250 |
2016 | 109,500 |
2017 | 127,750 |
2018 | 146,000 |
2019 | 104,811 |
2020 | 127,938 |
That means my total writing output looks like this:
Year | Words posted to sites | Words posted to blog | Total |
2008 | 18,072 | 0 | 18,072 |
2010 | 6,131 | 0 | 6,131 |
2011 | 3,506 | 0 | 3,506 |
2012 | 15,691 | 0 | 15,691 |
2013 | 4,520 | 0 | 4,520 |
2014 | 58,755 | 54,000 | 112,755 |
2015 | 33,338 | 91,250 | 124,588 |
2016 | 34,688 | 109,500 | 144,188 |
2017 | 29,851 | 127,750 | 157,601 |
2018 | 35,104 | 146,000 | 181,104 |
2019 | 79,872 | 104,811 | 184,683 |
2020 | 6,802 | 127,938 | 134,740 |
Total | 326,330 | 761,269 | 1,087,633 |
Woohoo! Over a million words written so far 🙂
It turns out that a pandemic can really mess with your writing time… who knew 😉
As I didn’t get anywhere near my goal this year, I’m going to reduce next years goal to 50k for mcstories.com and other sites, as I may write some non-mc related stuff this year and post it on literotica.com or elsewhere.
Here’s hoping that 2021 isn’t the dumpster fire that 2020 was!
