Part 1 * Part 2 * Part 3

The Bolt walked in to the lab, her fist clenched not in anger but in trepidation as she approached the man in the white lab coat.

“Ah Bolt, welcome to my lab.” he said with a warm smile on his lips but she was in no mood for false warmth today.

“Doctor Martian.” she responded with a cold node.

She’d been quietly inquiring about those ‘scientists’ that were on the fringe of legitimacy for the last several months and her search had brought her here, to his lab.

“To what do I owe the honour?” he asked.

She frowned and furrowed her brow, “I understand your on the cutting edge of cosmic energy research Doctor…”

“Yes, yes I am.  I’m doing amazing things with it, though the main stream media has dubbed me a quack.”

“Yes, I’m not interested in what they think, show me your research.”

His calm, jovial face darkened just a bit, “And why would I do that?  To what benefit would that be to me?”

She knew it would eventually come to this, anyone that could help her would not easily be swayed by her demeanor.

But it was a risk she was going to have to take, she’d been losing power for months, soon it would be noticable enough that she wouldn’t be able to conceal it any longer.  Doctor Martian might be the only personal that could help her figure out what was going on.

She let out a sigh before speaking, “I… I’m having some difficulty access the cosmic energy lately and I’m hoping you might be able to help me with the problem.”

His right eyebrow shot up for just a second before his jovial mode returned, “Well of course Bolt, of course!  Please come this way.” he said as he lead her in to the back of his lab.
