Of course, the programs, when used internally, often came with unforeseen consequences. When the press discovered the Senator’s affair, it was almost the end of the American program.
If not for the dogged determination of one General, who not only doubled down on the program, but deployed it on a massive scale and infiltrated the media before anything made the papers.
