“Ok, ok, stay calm… slow deep breathes… just relax… everything is going to be ok…” Celina thought as she stood perfectly still, her face tranquil and unmoving.
The butterflies in her stomach threated to break the serenity that she was desperately trying to hold on to, but she kept the under control the best she could.
Everything had been leading up to this day, the most important day of her life, she couldn’t let anything ruin it!
She heard footsteps coming over towards her and the butterflies milling about in her stomach turned into a raging swarm, she felt her face twitch just a little, but hoped they weren’t close enough yet to notice.
“Ah yes, Celina… she’s been quite popular so far today.” the familiar voice of the auctioneer filled her ears.
“I can see why, she has a very… professional look, she’d fit right in at my company as my new executive assistant.”
The swarm in her stomach threatened to escape up her throat and come out of her mouth as a squeal of excitement, but she focused on her training, how to be still, how to be calm, how to be vapid, and she held it together.
“Yes, though obviously quite a bit of potential there no matter what way you wanted to go. A few of the other potential buyers have suggested she’d make a good trophy wife, or mistress as well.” the auctioneer said.
“Too bad we can’t see her eyes, I’m sure they’re wonderful.” the other man said and Celina felt her knees go weak from the compliment, but she managed to stay standing.
“Yes, well, just a byproduct of the programming. She’ll recognize the first person she sees when she opens them as her new owner. So those nice hazel eyes will stay closed until the auction is completed later today.”
The other man grunted and then walked around Celina, inspecting her, sending more chills throughout her body.
Finally they moved on to the girl next to her and she hoped that the man would be the one to placing the wining bid on her. Then again, she’d thought that about ever man and woman that had come to visit her since she’d been put on display.
As their voices drew more and more distant, the butterflies finally started to calm down, settling into a nice pleasant feeling. She couldn’t wait for the auction to be over and to see who her owner was, she was sure whoever it was would make proper use of her soon afterwards.
