“Well shit, you weren’t lying…” Jason said as she rubbed his chin and looked at TechWitch standing in front of him.
“You seriously doubted me?” the man only known as The Vendor replied with mock hurt in his voice.
“Well I mean no… but yes? I mean, come on, she’s a tier one hero… how did you capture her?”
The Vendor chuckled and shook his head, “I don’t do the capturing, I just receive the product and sell it on. However I am told that it was a techno virus of some kind.” he replied.
Jason was impressed, “And she’s completely under control?” he asked.
“Of course, let me show you…” The Vendor replied and then held out a small device and clicked the single button on it.
The visor across TechWitch’s eyes flashed to life and suddenly her eyes opened and she stood at attention.
“TechWitch at your service Master, what is your command?” her slow and steady voice said.
The Vendor held the remote out towards her, “Enhance this device to be voice activated.” he said.
“As you command Master.” TechWitch replied and then reached out and touched the remote with the tip of her finger. The device shimmered for a moment, then the button disappeared, replaced with a small grill for the microphone.
The Vendor brought the device up to his mouth and spoke into it, “TechWitch, shutdown.”
TechWitch’s eyes fluttered and then closed as she retook her original position.
“As you can see, completely under control but still with all her powers.”
Jason let out a low whistle and nodded, “That’s perfect! I’ve got a problem with my production line that she’ll be able to fix up in no time.”
“Of course, her powers will let you improve efficiencies and modernize your production facility in no time. For the right price of course…”
It was Jason’s turn to chuckle, “Of course.”
“Let’s go to my office and we can discuss financial matters more comfortably.”
Jason nodded, he knew this was going to be expensive, but really he had little choice. He was behind on getting his latest product to market and there was no fix in sight… at least other than TechWitch, and there were billions at stake.
So really it didn’t matter what the price was, he’d be leaving with her and be happy to pay whatever the cost was.
Of course the fact that he could probably rent her out to other businesses at a pretty penny in the same kind of situation as him was just a bonus.
