“You can’t be serious… this is ridiculous!” Kathy said with a sneer as he looked over at her boss Tom.
“Oh? what’s the problem?” he asked in reply.
“Isn’t it obvious?” she retorted.
Tom scrunched his forehead for a moment, then frowned, the shook his head side to side.
Kathy let out a huff and rolled her eyes before pointing down to her boots, “These are just terrible… I mean, how am I supposed to walk around and show the house in these things?!?”
Tom raised an eyebrow and smiled, “Oh, is that all.” he replied and dismissed her concern with a wave of his hand.
Kathy couldn’t beleive Tom wasn’t taking her seriously, she was a professional and this was a real problem!
“Look, I’ll show you.” he said as he walked up and grabbed hold of her hand, pulling her around back of the chair until she was right up against it.

The man flipped open the brochure to the first page, the smiling face of Kathy at the top, a list of attributes and abilities directly under it followed by other miscellaneous information about her.
The man flipped through a few more pages and then headed upstairs.
Tom grabbed a few more brochure as more potential buyers arrived and came towards the front door.
Kathy sat in front of Tom’s desk, a little nervous, but more anxious than anything. She really needed this job, the real estate market was in teh tank and she’d been let go from her last brokerage.
“So it says here you have three years experience in real estate and an MBA from the state university. Anything else you’d like to tell me?” he asked.
She smiled a little bit and nodded, “Yes! I mean, yes. I’m a hard worker and I know if you give me a chance I won’t disappoint you.”
Tom smiled and nodded, it was an odd kind of smile that made her even more nervous.
She’d already been around to pretty much every real estate broker in the city, and yes, she’d heard the mummers about Tom’s business, but she was desperate!
“Well, that’s fantastic. I’m always looking for new, hard working, sales agents. Let’s start with a three month probationary period and see if you can deliver.”
“Thank you! I will!” she almost shouted as a smile blossomed across her lips.
Tom nodded and then pushed a folder across the desk towards her, “Here’s your contract… pretty customary stuff. Take it home and review it before signing.” he said as he opened the folder and waved towards the top few pages.
He then flipped the contact over to a second set of pages, “And here is our company policies, read those and…” he said, flipping to the final page and pointing to the bottom of it, “…then take this quick online quiz to confirm you’ve understood them. If you don’t pass the first time, don’t worry about it, there will be a remedial video tutorial afterwards you can watch and then take the quiz again.”
Kathy nodded as Tom closed the folder and pushed it the rest of the way towards her. She reached out and took it from him, setting it in her lap.
She was sure the quiz would be a breeze, “Thank you Tom, I’ll read everything tonight and take the quiz right away.”
Tom nodded, “Perfect, just get it done before you come in to the office on Monday and then I’ll take you out on a few sales calls with me.”
Kathy stood up and shook Tom’s hand before he escorted her out of his office, it was only Thursday so she had all kinds of time to get ready to start next week.
