Ugh… her head hurt. Come to think of it, her body hurt too!

As she blinked things started to come back to her… she’d been at James’s apartment, her boyfriend, and they’d been drinking wine and watching a movie… then… then she’d felt tired and drifted off to sleep.

Finally her eyes focused and saw James sitting on his couch as he looked down at his phone. She tried to say something, but her lips refused to move, she tried to move, but her limbs refused.

That was when she noticed the transparent plexiglass that was just in front of her and her heart started to race.

No! It was impossible! He wouldn’t…

A ding filled the room and James swiped away a notification and looked up towards her, a giant smile across his face. He stood up and walked over to the door and opened it, he came back to the living room with three men following him. Two burly men in overalls, and a third thin man in a black suit and tie.

“Ah, I see another Barbie unit. She’s come out… well.” the thin man said and then reviewed the screen of the table he was holding.

“I guess so, I just accepted the packaging for her early this morning and put her in. You get a lot of Barbie’s?” James asked.

“Oh yes, by far the most popular units, I’ve collected five so far today. Though I’ve also already picked up two Pink Pony units and a Princess unit.”

James nodded as the two burly men, one who was pulling along a cart, came over and started to lift the box up onto it.

“James! James! What are you doing!” she wanted to scream, but no sound came out of her mouth, not that it was a question she didn’t know the answer too anyway.

The wine must have contained the nannites, reshaping her body overnight, and locking her into position after James put her in the box. The nannites would soon be working on her mind, reworking it into a simple doll template for whoever the company sold her off to.

She’d known that James was having problems with debut, but she’d never imagined he’d do something so extreme as this!

The thin man turned the table towards James, “Just need a signature and confirm your account.” he said and James, for a second, looked towards her as the men were beginning to wheel her out of his apartment.

For a second, she thought he might refuse, but then he looked back down at the table and signed with the stylus the thin man offered him. As soon as the thin man confirmed he witnessed the signature she felt a strange tingling in the back of her head and the nannites got to work.

By the time they loaded her onto the truck, the new doll was looking forward to being delivered to her new owner so she could be played with.
