Julia looked over at the two men talking but all she could hear was “Wah wah waaah wa wwwwahh”, kind of like the adults in those old Charley Brown cartoons.
It was kind of weird how the headset had reprogrammed her, stripping away her free will, making her a compliant, obedient sex doll. Yet it couldn’t stop her from hearing things, only alter the way she perceived them.
So now, as long as she hadn’t been givin her command phrase, all she could hear was the nonsense voices and wonder what they were talking about.
She didn’t have to wait long, as the two men came over to her, still talking with each other, until they both smiled and shook hands.
Then the man on the left spoke and she could finally understand, “Unit J109238 command mode…” it was the first thing she’d understood in hours and a little piece of her rejoiced, but only a small piece.
“Unit J109238 ready for command.” her voice rang out and a shiver of pleasure rolled over her.
The programming was impossible to deny, obedience was pleasure, and going into command mode was the ultimate obedience.
“Recognize new owner, Carlos Hudson.” the man finished as he waved towards the second man.
Her head turned and even more pleasure filled her body, “Unit J109238 recognizes new owner Carlos Hudson. Would new owner like to rename unit J109238 now?”
Her new owner rubbed his chin for a moment and then nodded, “Yes, new name is Jewel.” he said in a firm tone.
Her eyes fluttered and a shiver crossed over her skin, “Jewel acknowledges rename. Command mode complete. Please use command phrase ‘Unit Jewel’ for all future interactions.”
Both men smiled and chuckled, but all she heard was “waaaaaaah”, only identify the chuckling from the heaving of their shoulders and chests.
After another short conversation her owner turned and started to walk away, she quickly took her place following behind him. As they left the store and walked into the street, she saw dozen of other units walking behind their owners. Just as the sound was about to overwhelm her, the noise canceling on her headset kicked in and the world went silent.
She wasn’t sure if the constant “waa wah” of the voices she heard but could not understand was better than the total silence when her headset isolated her from everything, but it was at least a change.
